I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken and veggies that were on special. The presentation was excellent, but the food was even better. I was hesitant to try this, but it was fantastic. Thanks to the kitchen for a great meal and a nice wait staff for a great experience.

My mom is a picky eater and usually she has a negative comment about most places we visit but after tasting her mussels and lemon curd cake, she only had great reviews. She doesn’t like milk, butter or cream so it is hard to find her food in any restaurant that doesn’t use those ingredients in their dishes. We were surprised that her mussels had a fresh light marinara sauce without all that heavy cream or butter. My mom also dislike sweets so I am usually the one to indulge in desserts but as soon as she tried a bite of my lemon curd cake (which my waitress recommended over my usual chocolate cake request) she ate more than the half of it. She was genuinely delighted so I knew I had to leave a 5 star review. My lobster linguine was delicious and I loved how you see every bits of the lobster as if the the shell was still on, so it showed that it was fresh and carefully removed. The linguine was perfectly cooked al dente. My picture doesn’t do justice to the dish cause as I ate, more pieces of lobsters appeared- a real treat! The restaurant is small but has plenty of seating. It seems that bartender is also serving food from the kitchen since it was next to each other. The restroom is straight down the hall from the main entrance. We came from a cruise to Alaska so we had limited time to explore but it seems that Mangiare was the only restaurant in a small area with only a handful of shops. I didn’t notice the name on the window and was using google maps to look for a place to eat but was drawn in by the Sitka Hotel and Lounge sign that was over the entrance door. This restaurant was definitely a highlight in Sitka. Pricing is actually cheaper than most seafood dishes in Miami, Florida. My mom and I truly enjoyed our food and will look for Mangiare on our next visit.

Seafood chowder was awesome. My wife had Caprese salad and it was largest sizes I've seen, with basil leaves the size of lettuce. Great drunks too.

I thoroughly enjoyed eating at Mangiare. The food was tasty and left me wanting more. The wine was fresh and paired well with the meal. The service was very friendly, both times. One time was just for drinks. The second time was for a full dinner in the evening. The pasta amount in the plates were funny looking but there was a good serving in the center for two. That along with the warm olive bread and balsamic and oil mix, the salmon, and appetizers was worth the cost. I left full and feeling great. The food tasted great. The people were nice. Go go go. Give them a visit.

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed the food and service. Great menu and something for everyone. Good coffee too. A little pricey but well worth it. If we're again in Sitka, we'll seek a meal here again.

Small and unassuming place with absolutely amazing food. I wasn't expecting it to be that good and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was nice, the service was good even though a bit slow but the food was really tasty. Cute little place, nice ambiance and decor but the food really makes it worth stopping by.
